Crash on opening

I love the other books but cant get past the very first blood and gun load screen. Please fix!

Bug squashed on iTouch 5

Recent update addresses crash at load screen for iTouch 5. Havent verified if this works on iPad 2. Kudos to Tin Man for taking the time to optimize an old game for old devices. Likely not going to add much to the devs bottom line, but a classy move nonetheless. As for the book: A super slick version of the Fighting Fantasy series. I dont miss the pencil and paper!

Resident evil+fighting fantasy

This game is pretty good as a fighting fantasy game. Its plot is well written enough for what its trying to do and it does give you the feeling of isolation and fear. I was kinda tense making decisions and the only real problem I can think of (outside of a few glitches) was that there were some decisions that immediately kill you despite the game hinting that it is the right answer. For example there is a box that you cant open. I had a shotgun. I was told that the only way to open it was to shoot it. It exploded and killed me when I did.

Couldnt wait

I have iPhone 5s and it wont open uninstalled many times and installed and still nothing.,please fix.,I would rather play this than get my 6$ back

Excellent title

Finally another gamebook on ios. This still makes there under 10 total. A sad fact because this game (as other tin man games) is excellent. A huge number of decisions are available in this game, and although Frustrating at times, its well worth it. Wish it was a little cheaper than it is though.

Bug is preventing me from playing

Died early in game probably at first chance to do so, went to reload a bookmark and now text wont appear. Tried restarting game and restarting storybook no text shows up anymore... For a game i played for about 5 minutes that now doesnt work i cant reccomend it

Amaze-balls!!!

Do green spined books and 6 sided die remind you of your childhood? If you answered yes, this app is for you! Having just picked up a copy of my favourite Fighting Fantasy book, Robot Commando, at the local used book store over the weekend; I inevitably wanted to see if the Fighting Fantasy series of books had made it to this generation. I was not disappointed. Put your paper, pencil and eraser, and your dice away; this app does everything for you! Your adventure sheet is auto-updated as you go. You even have a second chance to jostle the dice if they arent looking favourable. Bookmarks make it easy to save your progress, which is especially important when the dice are in your favour. Set against a zombie-survival storyline, this classic has hours of fun and nostalgia. This app will not disappoint and was worth my six bucks. Cheers.

Great system, needs better writing.

The art is beautiful and the game system itself makes for a fantastic choose-your-path story experience, huge Improvement on just using a book. It only gets 4 stars because the story is only so-so. Most of the choices are "look in the thing or dont look in it", I would have liked to see more characters and personalities. The results also can feel arbitrary in a way that doesnt improve the experience. I would buy another one of these at full price if the story was well-reviewed.

Nostalgia

...aint what it used to be. This was highly reminiscent of reading the FF books as a kid. (I had about 20.) The problem is they still feature the same uninspired writing and the same dull, repetitive graphics. Taking away the mechanics of the book (inventory, dice rolling) is convenient, but saps the last of the joy from an otherwise fun experience. Given all the other great games available at this price, Im not sure why anyone would bother. I got it at $3 and still regret it.

Waste of money.

The game keeps crashing after the logos.

Crashes after every fight

Keeps crashing after every fight. Unplayable until fixed.

What A fun game/book!

What a great idea! Take the old choose your adventure books from our youth and mix in DnD style combat (and some zombies for good measure). This is basically an Rpg. So you read through the story. Then along the way youll find items (such as health kits) and weapons. Occasionally you encounter zombies or other bad guys that youll need to fight. The game uses the stats of the weapon you have and dice rolls to decide combat.

Great! So much fun— Even in groups!

This game is designed to be played solo, but we were enjoying mapping out our adventure and reading aloud together in a group of three (with one designated hero at a time and sometimes switching roles after a failure). The writing and unique social opportunities are interesting enough for even non-participants to want to listen in and cheer on the successes of of the protagonist. If you want to play this game socially, I recommend having one person read, one person make decisions, and another person draw a map. The only problem is that the story has a number of typos and syntax errors. It could use a good edit, but the fun is not dampened by the mistakes. I am so glad we got this game!

Does not disappoint

Great addition. Cant wait for more.

Not worth the high price

Well coded & the graphic design looks great. I just dont think the actual story is well-written or engaging enough, its comes off like a typical amateur fan fiction novel.

Not as good as the last 3 or 4 books

Not enough dice rolls to determine fate. Feels way too linear to me.

Very good

Nice game, love the zombie style. Cant wait for more great games.

Very disappointing

I liked these kinds of books when I was 12, but I think thats because I cheated. This is the second e-version of an FF book I played, and the first was even worse. Wont be playing any more.

My first gamebook

I didnt grow up in the 80s period, so this is my first dip on the fighting fantasy, btw im 27 so i spent my youth on 90s:p Maybe this is a lil bit bias because i really love the genre I already spent my money on blood of the zombis, house of hell and trial of the clones, until now i enjoy all off them and the replayability are quite long. I havent finished all of them I dunno about the total playing time for each gamebook, but for me its totaly worth it , maybe you could decrease the price a lil bit 4.99 is perfect on my opinion :) Please keep releasing the fighting fantasy series ill buy all of them :D The extra on the house of zombies is great Maybe you could make extra for every release of ff Maybe abackstory, the making ,or stuff like that Totally instabuy :D

Not the best fighting adventure book

I love these kinds of fighting adventure books, so Im not a hater, but this book had some problems. I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot, but then about half way through the book changed, it went form a choose your path type of book to " Choose our path or die." I compare these types of books to the fantastic Lone Wolf books from the 80s, where there were like six or more different ways to get the the end safely, this one, only one! Yes, try to turn left instead of right? Dead, try to avoid combat because your health is low? Dead. As another reviewer stated, it is wayyyyy to linear for my tastes. There is only one path to successfully finish the book and it becomes a matter of simple trial and error to see which direction to go. Then to top it all off, if steadily bleeds stamina points from you and then force feeds you into a battle with 20 zombies with a measly pistol or youre automatically dead if you attempt to hide or to flee. Another thing that bugged me, I finished it on hardcore, and even had the two most powerful weapons in the game, but at the very end, when its been non-stop fighting and your health is low, guess what? You lose both of them automatically LOL! I barely squeaked by the end boss, but I wasnt happy or satisfied, just glad it was over. I like my gamebooks to be challenging, but this one was pure frustration during the second half of the book. I love the types of fighting adventure books, but this one had some really bad weaknesses that just ruined it for me. The story was pretty good and it still deserves 3 stars, but definitely not my favorite book. Just my .02.
